This week, nearly five years after NYPD Officer Richard Haste shot and killed 18-year-old Ramarley Graham inside the bathroom of the Graham family's Bronx home, the 35-year-old officer will face a disciplinary hearing at police headquarters.

On February 2, 2012, Ramarley Graham was shot and killed in his own home by NYPD Officer Richard Haste in front of his grandmother and 6-year-old brother. Haste and several other NYPD officers busted into the family's home without a warrant, killed Ramarley, and engaged in misconduct and abuses of his family.
Mayor Bill de Blasio’s campaign account recently posted a Twitter message touting the NYPD’s neighborhood policing initiative. “New York City is proving to the rest of the country that respectful, compassionate neighborhood policing drives down crime & makes us safer,” the tweet from @BilldeBlasio read.
No justice, no apologies.
Activists fighting for reform said Monday that an apology from an organization representing police chiefs for decades of brutality is nothing but empty rhetoric.
“The problem is that police continue to enforce racist and discriminatory laws and policies,” said Constance Malcolm, whose unarmed son, Ramarley Graham, 18, was shot to death by a cop in his Bronx home in 2012.
