Communities United for Police Reform has released a new Know Your Rights booklet with critical information for New Yorkers to know when interacting with the police. The 16 page pamphlet includes information about what to do if you are stopped, frisked, search or arrested, important information if the police stop you in a car or cab or come to your home, and the specific rights of youth, LGBT and gender nonconforming people, public housing residents, homeless, non-citizens and those monitoring the police. The pamphlet is now available in English at changethenypd.org/knowyourrights. The Spanish version is forthcoming soon. La versión en español será disponible próximamente.
