Fund Our Futures Art Walk & Mural Unveiling

This Saturday, June 5th from 1:00 pm-6:00 pm, join us for Fund Our Futures Art Walk & Mural Unveiling at The People's Garden, 1237-1241 Green Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11221.

There will be a joint unveiling of beautiful community-inspired Murals created by Medicine Walls, in addition, to live music and free food and drinks!

The following organizations have contributed to these beautiful works of art: Color of Change, The Arab American Association of New York, VOCAL-NY, Make the Road New York, Justice Committee, and MXGM. 

 

 
 

#PoliceFreeSchools March & Rally

On June 5th Join our #NYCBudgetJustice coalition partners Dignity in Schools Campaign NY in Washington Square Park at 11 AM for a march and rally for police-free schools. 

The city budget process is underway and, with a July 1 deadline, City Hall has the choice to make police-free schools a reality for school communities this coming school year. This has been a school year unlike any other – next year must not continue to prioritize youth criminalization. We need #PoliceFreeSchools and we need it now!

Lets Get Free: Learning Into Liberation

On Sunday, May 16th, join CPR member JFREJ's Freedom to Thrive campaign in 7 locations across New York City in honoring the holiday of Shavuot and fighting for community-based solutions for our collective safety instead of reliance on policing. At each location, you will learn how to be an upstander to hate violence and canvass neighborhoods in favor of investing in community alternatives to policing that don't endanger Black and Brown New Yorkers but keep ALL of us safe.

The first session delves into the critical arcs of the LGBTQ+ communities’ history, including the origination of Pride from the Stonewall Riot against a police raid, growing police presence at New York Pride, and the continuous resistance of our communities against police violence and criminalization through providing safety at Pride, and more.
