Monday October 30, 2017 was the 5th day of the trial against NYPD Officer Wayne Isaacs. Supporters continued to pack the court to support Delrawn Small's family who were in attendance, including Delrawn's sister, brother, and others. The main witness was the medical examiner who performed the autopsy of Delrawn Small, after he was murdered. Supporters who helped to pack court today included CPR members/partners, incl: Justice Committee, Jews for Racial & Economic Justice, and Showing Up for Racial Justice.

Trial Summary: October 26

Thursday October 26, 2017 was the 3rd day of the trial against NYPD Officer Wayne Isaacs. Supporters continued to pack the court to support Delrawn Small's family who were in attendance, including Delrawn's sister, brother, and others. Mr. Small's stepdaughter testified today. 
 
Supporters who helped to pack court to day included:
  • Families who have lost loved ones in NYPD killings, including: mothers of Eric Garner and Kimani Gray, as well as the nephew of John Collado.
  • CPR members/partners who joined court support today included Katal Center for Health, Equity & Justice.
There were four witnesses called by the prosecution (NYS Attorney General's office) today.
  • Mr. Lipscomb, who was a witness to the murder of Delrawn Small
  • An NYPD detective and a lieutenant
  • Zanaia Isaacs, Delrawn Small's stepdaughter

Trial Summary: October 23

Monday, October 23rd was the first day of the criminal trial of Wayne Isaacs, the off-duty NYPD officer, who shot and killed 37-year old Delrawn Small on July 4th, 2016, in Brooklyn, NY.
 
This is the 1st case being prosecuted under the special prosecutor executive order that was won in July 2015 - authorizing the NYS Attorney General’s office to act as special prosecutor in cases where police kill civilians. Delrawn Small’s family, as well as many community members, turned out to the Brooklyn Supreme Court today to demand accountability.
